Raheen Quay Walk
The Walk from Clashmore Village, Co. Waterford takes us up beside the river, passes the immaculately kept St Mocha’s well and down to Raheen Quay, where in times gone hosted vessels containing coal and corn to feed the distillery in Clashmore.
The walk
The walk is level access the whole way and the gradient is very acceptable for pushing buggies and wheelchair users, some of the walk takes you by road but it a Cul-De-Sac so traffic is at a minimum. The Map and video below shows the route and scenery along the route.
The Old Still in Clashmore serves Breakfast every Sunday morning or the Deices Bar serves lunch and evening meals on the weekend so walkers can either start off with a full stomach or finish the walk with a relaxing meal in the village, or option 3 would be to picnic along the route as there are plenty of places along to route to set down and finish up that with a trip to the local shop in the village for a few ice creams but you might bear in mind to take your rubbish home please!
Distance
1.5 Km either way so the total length of the walk is approx 3 Km and will take approximately 40 mins, or just take your time as there are plenty of places along the way to just sit, relax and listen to nature.
