Clashmore Old Schoolhouse 4th May 2018
Things are really getting going for the June Bank Holiday weekend this year as Clashmore String & Things Festival Committee put on a massive show in the Old Schoolhouse last night. The venue was full to capacity with standing room only as patrons came from as far away as West Cork to see the show.
Liam Lynch
After the house lights dimmed at 08:00pm Liam Lynch took center stage and kicked off the event with Seanachie Story telling where he delighted and captivated the imagination of the crowd with song and stories of old, containing wit and sorrow at times.
A quick break then where tea coffee and sweet cakes were served to all free of charge. A Special shout out to Liz Salmon’s cream filled pastries – Keep up the good work girl !
No Direction
After the break the five lads from Cork with Daz-white shirts and the finest tuxedos ever to be seen in Clashmore the took to the stage, within minutes they had the crowd swaying left to right and singing along to the popular tunes of the likes of Frank Sinatra, The Drifters, Tina Turner and many more.
They tried to pack up and go home around 10:30 but the crowd were having none of it and insisted that they play on, which to the audiences delight they did.
Well done to all involved !
