Youghal’s First Cut Film Festival is ready for action.

Nine years in operation, Youghal’s First Cut Film Festival is ready for action. An event spread over 4 days at the Mall Arts Centre from the 25th to the 28th April 2018. Every year this festival has proven to be inspiration and information for all young enthusiasts of film.

 

With the aid of the Arts Council, Cork County Council, Cork Film Centre, Youghal Credit Union, local business and the community at large is supporting this years festival along other local businesses around the town there will be a large screen pop-up cinema and café provided showing films of all genres highlighting the talents of young filmmakers aged from 12 to 24.

Workshops

Various workshops will also be hosted for the festival featuring popular topics like animation, IT, film making, Digital storytelling etc….  John McCarthy will host an “Acting for Film” Workshop starting at 3:30 on the 25th April for anyone aged 14-18 with an interest in acting for camera. No previous experience required. Introducing basic performance techniques and giving pointers towards building on these initial steps. The workshop will focus on the collaboration and ensemble work needed to hone these skills and will unfold through exploring an exciting array of scenarios and miniature scenes. However numbers are limited on this workshop so please book you place in advance by emailing the hosts at firstcutfilm@gmail.com. The cost of this workshop is €10.00 but all other workshops are FREE to attend.
